Fireworks with Tears

Like at midnight on New Year's Eve,

One by one -
as if in keeping with the time zones,
the sky lights up- all over the world,

people gather,

But this time to console,

midnight's kisses have turned to tears,
as they watch the sparks
take away lives,
from yet another
explosion -
in another part of the world.
